Clyst St Mary has a Flood Group that consists of volunteers who reside in the locality and meet from time to time (see Flood Group Volunteers). If you would be interested in joining this small group of friendly volunteers please contact the office on 01392 874405.
Clyst St Mary Flood Defence -“Stop Logs”
Volunteers from the village joined the Environment Agency (EA) on 4th March 2023 in an exercise to erect the aluminum “stop logs”at the end of the historic Old Bridge in Clyst St Mary and another at the northern edge of Frog Lane. When erected, these barriers complete the vital flood prevention scheme recently completed by the EA. A grant was kindly awarded to the Parish Council by Devon Communities which was used to purchase 4 sets of waders and 4 led work lamps.
